Well Recently I had gone to Italy. My new year celebration was in Rome as I reached here on 31st December 2011. My stay in Rome was for 3 days, Next 3days in Florence, Next 3days in Venice and after an overnight stay at Milan I was back to India.
Rome was not built in a day, an old proverb went absolutely right watching the Colosseum, The Roman Forum, Spanish Steps ,Trevi Fountains, The Sisline Chapel(Vatican City) and lot many other chapels and buildings.(31st Dec2011- 3rdJ an 2012)
In Florence a day trip of Tuscany was stupendous. Places visited were Sienna, San Gimignano, Pisa and the village producing one of the best Chianti wines, In Pisa watching the leaning tower of Pisa was a wonderful experience.(3rd Jan to6th Jan 2012)
Reached Vennice and went the city around on the Grand Canal in the world famous Gondolla ride. Next day went to the islands of Murano, Burano, Torcello. Murano is famous for blow glass, Burano for beauty, and Torcello where fishermen live in all colored houses.(6th Jan to 9th )
In Milan the commercial capital of Italy and the world famous fashion district saw the Leonardo Da Vinci”s world renowned painting “the last supper”. Truly a master class. Be careful ! There is a two months waiting to get inside unless you have prior booking(as told by our tour manager). I am still refreshed with all memories of Italy and few I have the honor to share with you in pictures on my web.
Believe me its worth visiting Italy………..
